WALK POEMS is a series of workshops that invites guests to walk as a means to discover hidden meaning on their streets and local surroundings. Gathering words, phrases or visual notations on their journey - through faded posted, advertisements, street signs, graffiti - the participants are then invited to exchange their gathered material and collectively compose poems.

The presentation of the poems can take different forms, ranging from ephemeral notes using organic material to printed posted shared in windows for passers by to enjoy. These workshops aim to engage participants in a reimagining in what our streets want to say and how we hold power to reclaim and rewrite public space.

This curatorial format is conceptualised in collaboration with Co-Making Matters.

July, 2024

A new series of Walk Poems were created from ReRouting’s workshopWalk through, around, over, under, beyond’ at Radical Playgrounds. Participants of the workshop took notes on different ways to ‘walk-through’ the exhibition and disrupt the traditional curator-led tours.

Walk Instructions

at Künstlerhof Frohnau
September 2023

As part of ReRouting’s Walking Residency at Künstlerhof Frohnau, Viviane Tabach brought the concept of Walk Instructions to the group, a prelude to the ongoing Walk Poems series. The invitation was invited to collectively write instructions on how to walk the forest site that surrounds the Künstlerhof, so that visitors passing through could walk a little differently on their next trip.
