ReRouting’s WORKSHOPS create space to explore walking as a tool for learning, exchange, and imagination. Bridging arts, education, and social practices, the workshops invite participants to engage with different ways of moving through and thinking about sites. Unlike our curated walk actions, workshops are less about following a set route and more about experimenting together with where, what, and how routes can be. They offer an embodied and collaborative setting for sharing perspectives, testing ideas, and rethinking how we move through and connect with our surroundings.

Also see our FOOTNOTES format, that can take on a workshop format - like footnotes in a text, the series seeks to add context or information to an artistic practice where it might be missing.

Walking with Children

31.06 - 6.07, 2025
with Walking Arts Encounters Conference,
University of Western Macedonia, Prespa, Greece

WALC is a conference that takes place every two years in the area around lake Prespa.

Walking with Children was conceptualised as an encounter within the encounter - one which invites participants to bring their children to the conference as well as creating a space for children to participate as equals in the activities. A series of workshops by different artists were formulated into a program, which invited both local and visiting participants as well as intergenerational encounters.

Walk through, around, over, under, beyond

12.07.2024
with Radical Playgrounds, Martin Gropius Bau/Berliner Festspiele, Berlin

There are many ways to walk, with each mode offering different ways of seeing what surrounds us. Many cultural institutions offer guided tours, leading guests through an exhibition context and sharing a set piece of knowledge.

Responding to Radical Playgrounds as a site of play, this workshop asks how we walk through through an exhibition site more radically or more playfully? Participants are invited to disrupt the role of leader and determine the routes, speeds, and motions of how we could guide others through the Radical Playgrounds site for one afternoon.
