Date: Saturday 11th July, 2026
Time: 14:00 - 15:00
Language: English
Meeting Point: Kottbuser Tor (U-bahn entrance Dresdener str/Reichenberger str)
In this walk "Society for the Promotion of Exemplary Road Damage" will take you on a journey to Berlin’s finest road damage. In the heart of Kreuzberg, we will come together for 60 mins of street and pavement inspection. A walk to literally learn from the streets. It’s not unlikely that it's you who stumbles upon a diamond in the rough.
The Society for the Promotion of Exemplary Road Damage (GzFvS) examines the sealed surfaces of our cities for irregularities of high valence. We are interested in flawed defects and patched-up repairs, not to improve the quality of the roads or make fun of the hard work, but to draw conclusions about broader societal contexts and how to approach systems, errors, order, and disorder. Much can be learned from potholes, ruts, and stumbling blocks about the coexistence of different principles of thought and order, about contaminated ecologies, liminal problems, how to treat exceptions—and what to grab in case of revolution.
For any questions about accessibility please get in touch: info@thereroutingproject.org
In the case you are unable to pay the ticket cost but would still like to join this event, get in touch on the same email to secure one of our solidarity spots.
